somehow we survived the insane humidity, the drizzling rain, the heat and the relentless mosquitoes and still somehow managed to get some pretty darn cute family photos! thanks for toughing it out with me guys! this adorable family belongs to rhiannon giddens of the carolina chocolate drops. she is so talented! my crew and i really had a great time dancing it up to the chocolate drops at delfest this year.
just for fun here are a few shots i snapped of rhiannon and the carolina chocolate drops at delfest.
rhiannon belting it out on one of my faves, i am a country girl. if you have not seen the carolina chocolate drops live i highly recommend it!
sandra and john had the sweetest little wedding in the beautiful greensboro arboretum. i love how they involved sandra’s two boys in the ceremony. it makes my heart happy to see such a happy new family!
i love this kid and his adorable smile! it has been so fun getting to photograph this little ray of sunshine each year.
it was so fun to catch up with amy and her family. i won’t tell you how many years it has been since we have seen each other, but we were friends way back in our college days. her kids are so adorable!
sometimes you just need mamma’s hair and a bottle!
and sometimes you need a little bribe from the photographer. ; )
baby jewel is growing up! she was such a tiny little princess just a few short months ago. now she is a big girl, sitting up, getting lots of teeth, laughing and mommy is expecting another baby!
look how much the twins and their big sister have grown over the past year! the first photo is from silas + halle’s newborn session.
i am a big fan of old time music, so i have to admit i was pretty excited to meet rhiannon, from the carolina chocolate drops, and her family. we met up on a cold winter day at their house in front of the family piano, which is a perfect setting for this musical family! rhiannon and mike’s daughter, aoife is like a dancing beam of sunshine. her bubbly personality brightened up the gloomy winter day. i love her little impish smile! baby caoimhín (pronounced kwee-veen) was bright eyed and ready for some snuggles.
what a great family!
