One of my favorite people I’ve ever shot for Our State is in this month’s issue!  Gladys is an amazing woman with an amazing life story and she makes a mean breakfast!  I had a bit of a crazy trip getting down to Ocracoke to photograph her.  I drove the 7 hours to Hatteras and arrived at about 2 am, slept a few hours and caught the 5 am ferry so that I could meet Gladys bright and early at 6 am.  Let’s just say, at 70 years old, she has WAY more energy than me!

If you’re headed to Ocracoke and planning to stay at The Castle Bed & Breakfast, you’re in for a treat!

  • Congratulations! The photos are beautiful and she seems like such an amazing person!

I love your work! One of my new year’s resolutions is to share the love with other photographers that I admire… I know how much a nice comment can make a day! Keep doing what you’re doing! 🙂

  • Fantastic photography! I’m guesting your using a fixed 85mm at 2.8 or less. Perfect white balance and exposure with availible light capturing Ms Stover’s skill and charm.

I saw this in the Our State Magazine and had to look your site up.

Your web site is equally impressive very fresh and original.

If your ever in Blowing rock look me up.
