there is something magical about cape cod. the light is gorgeous, the landscape is rustic, and the towns are quaint.
i met julie’s sister, kelly hike, years ago at a photography workshop in cabo. it was fun to reconnect with her at her sister’s wedding. plus, it is wonderful to shoot a wedding that a photographer helped to plan to maximize photo opportunities! i had such a great time working with julie and danny and getting to know their awesome families.

the robertson’s have two new additions since our last photoshoot. everyone knows when you have a baby it is the best time to get a new puppy, right?! only a wonderful vet and patient parents, like dr. robertson and her husband, could make it look so easy.
prepare yourself for some major cuteness!
katie and grant had a lovely southern soiree to celebrate their nuptials.
the ceremony was at the gorgeous duke chapel. the rain poured down as they said “i do”, but the sun came through the clouds as we reached the fearrington house.
i love the pale palette of yellow and white of the flowers by mary stevens of the fearrington house.
katie looked amazing in her dress by amsale, hair by dianne spencer, and makeup by kevin mckinght.
the fearrington house whipped up some delicious southern inspired treats for the guests. the cake had the cutest cake toppers from etsy.
the infinity x band got the party started. there were some great dance moves at this wedding!
the night was a fabulous affair! congrats katie + grant.
bob timberlake has his own little slice of north carolina paradise in lexington, nc. it was such a pleasure photographing bob timberlake’s studio for our state magazine. he has the most amazing collections of anything and everything from the old south.

i had so much fun hanging with my bff and her new little baby on my trip to n.j. i loved snuggling up with madeleine and preparing her for a lifetime of spoiling from her auntie sara!
It was so nice to catch up with Ashley + Brandtly in Charlottesville and meet their little man, Béla. Such a sweet little guy! They just got back from a month long trip to Costa Rica where they went to study Spanish for 4 hours a day. They’re cool like that. Little Béla is a world traveler already and probably knows more Spanish than me!
I had a great time sweating it out with Ruby & Rob in DC and Maryland! We got up early to beat the crowds to the monuments only to discover that the reflecting pool is completely torn up. Who knew… I guess they’re renovating? We hung out at the Washington Monument (pre- earthquake crack) and wondered why none of the hot dog vendors were open at 9 am (Ruby wanted a hot dog). I learned a new word that will be added to my vocabulary… Hangry. It’s when you’re hungry, so you get angry… as in “Honey, did I do something wrong or are you just hangry? Great word, right?
We were all on the verge of getting a little hangry, so we hopped back on the Metro and were entertained by the most interesting (ie-crazy) guy ever. He wasn’t really crazy…well, maybe… but he did proceed to talk in one run-on sentence for the next twenty minutes non-stop. We learned about carbon, and meta-physics, and religion and that everyone in DC has a cousin in NC.. all with a Caribbean accent. Needless to say, our Metro trip flew by and we were off to lunch and our second location, Glen Echo Park.
The park was a little less eventful.. unless you count the lady who caused a scene getting kicked off the carousel for not paying her $1.25 … don’t mess with the carousel guy, he means business! On to the pictures!
